I decided I had to decide

Poem moving from a victim narrative to a radically responsible life

I had to decide. said I once upon a time I had to pick sides It was choose or die It was rainy outside It was a windy cold night And now that I am inside Was it worth it to survive? Was it worth it to survive? I can try to do my best With what is available What I chose with what I had And now that I know better I have learned that I can wait In the face of life or death So I live without regrets I decided that I don't have to decide I decided that I decided at my best I decided I can wait I decide then I asses

I decide not to beat myself up Full or empty is still a cup All I got is the moment Shifting my lense to the presentt l
